How to render flare fat

Firstly what is flair fat?

It is fat from the pig that can be rendered down to lard, which can then be used to bake roast potatoes in, for shortening or on toast with some salt and pepper (like my granny likes it!)

The way to render flare fat is low and slow. Pop your oven on about 100 – 120 degrees Celsius (be careful the oven is no hotter than 120 degrees or it will burn and not render) and forget about it, leave it for as many hours as it takes to render all the good stuff out. Checking every hour and pouring off the rendered fat to save overflowing. It is then ready for you to use as you like!
